About Us:

Ursula and Emmett McLoughlin, longtime residents of Sonoita, have announced their intention to develop an International Conference Center and Lodge on a Section of land one mile west of the Tubac townsite. They announced today that they will be making application for the necessary Conditional Use Permit from Santa Cruz County in September.

The Conference Center / Lodge will be built to the demanding standards of the International Association of Conference Centers. www.iacconline.org Of which there are only 350 worldwide. The Lodge is planned to have 78 rooms. And the emphasis is placed on private and secure meetings and conferences rather than conventions. IACC as an example recommends that the size of a conference be no more than 125 participants.

This project in Santa Cruz County is almost a homecoming. For the past thirty years the Russian and German speaking McLoughlins have been working primarily in the hospitality fields of Germany and Kazakhstan. And their specialty has been organizing Executive Conference Centers for businesses coming into new markets.

In returning to southern Arizona, Ursula McLoughlin said that the Tubac locale, which is bounded by the Coronado National Forest and the Tumacacori Wilderness area, is a perfect place to welcome international guests seeking security, privacy, and a pristine environment.

When not traveling abroad, the McLoughlins have been active with the Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce for many years. They look forward to developing international conference center business on both sides of the US- Mexico border. Of course, target markets will be NAFTA companies, maquiladora Empresas in Sonora, and in addition, those Fortune 500 companies seeking a new, relaxing, year round conference locale. We suggest that meeting planners note that we do not have hurricanes, blizzards, or earthquakes.
